Our in-house Claims Department is a vital, free service which gives you strong & experienced support when it really counts – with everything from a minor claim to a major catastrophe. Many claims are settled by us on behalf of the insurers, so ensuring that delays are kept to a minimum.  Our experienced staff handle your claim from first notification to settlement, and work for you with the insurers & their loss adjusters to achieve prompt and fair settlements.

Reporting A Claim

Before you start please have to hand:

  • Your details including your policy number, or claim number.
  • Details of any third parties involved.
  • An indication of the value of the claim, such as purchase price, replacement cost, repair costs, or the extent of the damage or injury.
  • We also recommend you refer to your policy documents to check what's covered.

How to contact us about your claim:

  • Contact the office that arranged your insurance. You can find our local office details opposite
  • E-mail your contact details and the nature of your claim and we will call you back.
  • If we have acknowledged your claim already please contact the number given on the acknowledgement.

Please indicate your policy number, or claim number if you know it, in all correspondence.

How do I know if I'm covered?

  • Your policy document will explain precisely what is and is not covered. If you are still unsure after checking the document please call us.

When do I call the police?

  • Immediately for any incident that involves loss of personal possessions, theft, malicious damage, or personal injury, remember to obtain an incident reference number.
  • If you damage someone else's property and that person cannot be contacted.

Who else might I need to call?

  • Report any lost credit cards to the issuing company.
  • The States or Parish authority

What do I do if someone else (a third party) is involved?

  • Exchange name and contact details.
  • Take pictures if appropriate of the damage
  • It will be useful to obtain contact details of any witnesses.

What happens once I've submitted my claim?

  • Any emergency repairs will be authorised without delay.
  • We will acknowledge your claim.
  • If we need further details we will contact you to ask for them. We will provide contact details to allow you to follow the progress of your claim.

How long will my claim take?

  • We aim to settle all claims as quickly and as fairly as possible. However, delays may occur where we need to contact you for additional information, or where a claim is complicated, or where a third party is involved. If you need to check on the progress of your claim do not hesitate to contact us.

What if I have a complaint?

  • We welcome your views on any aspect of our service and if we fail to meet your expectations, in the first instance please contact us on the number given on your claim acknowledgement. More details on our complaints procedure are given in our Terms of Business.
